Troop 22 Northern Tier High Adventure Trips

Love canoeing?  Want to learn about portaging?  What a challenge?  Then Northern Tier is for you!

The Northern Tier High Adventure canoe trip is an amazing experience. The Scouts are stepping into a country explored by few people. Northern Tier takes pride in offering Scouts the world's best canoeing.  The Northern Tier has several adventures, each with a different character. Each trip at Northern Tier is an unforgettable journey through the heart and soul of Canoe Country.

Northern Tier is one of the Boy Scouts of America’s High Adventure Bases – in the North Woods where we will canoe-camp for 9 days in beautiful country.  We will share the wilderness with the beaver, northern pike, eagles, moose and a few mosquitos.  We will check into one of the 3 Northern Tier Bases in Atikokan, Ontario – yes, that’s Canada!  On arrival at the base, each crew will meet its interpreter (guide), plan an itinerary, check out gear, and learn some basics.  The next morning, we will “put in” to a lake or river – returning to the base 9 days later.  We carry EVERYTHING we will need for the 9 days with us.
