Parent Binder Contents

When a Scout joins Troop 22 we present him with his own Scout Binder and his parents with their own Parent Binder.  Hopefully this will ease the sometimes confusing transition into Boy Scouting!  We hope that our parents will keep their binder and update it each year with the new rosters and calendar as a ready reference to answer any Scouting questions that may come up.  Its a good place to keep all of your current Scout stuff (flyers etc.)

 Some of the things in the binder are purchased at a store (paper, pens etc.); some of the things in the binder are stored in our Troop Documents File Box which is at every troop meeting; and some of the things in the binder can be downloaded from this website and printed.  Therefore YOU could make yourself a Parent binder with a little bit of work!  Most often you just want one particular document.  Here is a list of the contents of the Parent binder and where to find them

Outside

• Binder Itself (We usually get them at Costco but you can get them at any office supply store)

• Front Cover (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file)

• Binding Label (Excel Spreadsheet, Acrobat-pdf file) (Print on cardstock)

Inside

• Index tabs (We usually get 5 tab index pages for each binder at an office supply store)

• Index tab labels (Word Document)

• Pencil Case (We try to get these as cheap as possible, usually at Longs in September)

• Notebook Paper (Any place!, Buy in September its cheaper, just put a few pieces in each binder as an example)

• Parent Binder Table of Contents (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file)

  • Welcome Letter from the Scoutmaster (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file)

  • Welcome Letter from Committee Chair (Troop Binder Coordinator File)

  • Building Blocks of Scouting (Get this brochure at the Scout office)

  • Scout Catalog (Get free catalog copies at the Scout Shop)

  • New Parent Buddy Slip (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file, print on bright paper)

  • BSA Reading List (Get these bookmarks at the Scout office)

  • Adult Leader Uniform Shopping Checklist (Excel Spreadsheet, pdf file)

• Back Flap - Forms we need returned

  • Driver Information Sheet (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file)

  • Permission to Treat Form (Word Document, Acrobat-pdf file)
