Troop Parent Committee Meeting Minutes

September 28th, 2006

7:30 - 9:00 pm, Gelsons Calabasas

SM Report ()

• On track for Camp Josepho

  • Challenge is transportation

  • Normally ASMs drive but can't for this outing

  • Menus approved for all patrols

  • Troop backpacks were distributed for those who need them

• Youth Leaders posted

  • Parker Z (ASPL) et al

• Patrol Advisors Assigned

• Attendance sheet formatted will be distributed

• Eric Z, Quartermaster, is putting together a list of equipment needed (ASAP)

SPL Report (Jake)

• Court of Honor had too many announcements

• Suggestion to send agenda around and include SPL

Patrol Challenge

• We haven't received our secret clues yet

• Final rules won't be available until night it starts

• Each Patrol needs a digital camera and to burn a CD

• Cost per Scout - Troop charging $15 with $25 spending money for total of $35 per Scout

• Mileage limit and time limits new for this year

• How do we get reimbursement from Scouts for Outing food?

Outdoor/Activities Subcommittee Report

• Still need reservations for Piedra Blanca

  • no reservations needed/wilderness permit

• Summer Camp

  • Reservations will be made soon

  • Cost are ~$530

  • Signup list getting started next meeting

  • So far enrollment is 13 Scouts and 4 Adults (Should be able to accomodate)

Finance Subcommittee Report (Mike H)

• Financial reports were presented and reviewed

  • Judy had a discrepancy on popcorn $$ from last year

  • Mike explained how the calculations were made and are ok

• Transitioning to Kiko

• Popcorn Sales

  • We need these up!

  • We were going to activate the phone tree

Advancement Subcommittee Report

• Job handoff

  • Lisa is handing off to Jill

  • Jill is not up on Troopmaster yet

• Court of Honor

  • Need a cut off waaaaaay in advance of the Court of Honor for changes etc.

  • Need booklet info much earlier

  • talk to Court of Honor Coordinator to push the schedule up

Uniform/Training Subcommittee Report

• Troop Committee Challenge (3 hours)

• HAT Basic Backpacking October 14th

Membership Subcommittee Report

• Treasure Hunt Joint Troop/Webelos Outing

  • Need a Monday Working Meeting to get invitations made and sent to invite Webelos to January Treasure Hunt Outing

  • Rancho Alegre is not available

  • Working on getting Camp Jubilee

Other Business

• Meeting with Ursula Kennedy Oct 9th at 7:30 to discuss fundraising opportunity for the troop
