Troop Parent Committee Meeting Minutes

May 25th, 2006

7:30 - 9:00 pm, Gelsons Calabasas

Attendance:

Ooops.  Didn't write it down.  We really need to get someone who's good at taking minutes!

Roundtable Report (Peggy)

• Next Roundtable (June) is District Recognition Dinner

• $10 per person

• RSVP by June 5, mail WLACC

• Rayna to send separate email about this

SM Report (NTR - Bridging Ceremony Simultaneous)

Finance Subcommittee Report (Michael)

• Financial reports were presented and reviewed

• Camp Whitsett Bus

  • Twice as much as budgeted (gas prices)

  • Bob to look into sharing bus with another local troop

  • Committee voted to pay the extra cost for the bus

• Florida Sea Base

  • Had 2 crews, trying to reduce to 1 crew

  • Troop may lose money

  • Still need hotel and vans to be paid for

• Eagle Court Expenses

  • Still many more Eagle Courts to go

  • Not an insignificant expense (hall rental, plaque name, statue, cakes, beverage service)

• Overall we are coming in about a couple thousand dollars above our budget

• Free Carwash $450 in tips plus $313 in Scout Accounts

• Pancake Breakfast $642 profit

• Dinner Dance - Sept 9th

  • Theme: Back to school (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's)

  • Silent Auction

  • Club donated by Jerry

  • Need to form subcommittees asap

  • June 19th 1st Official Meeting

  • All agreed to do the Patrol Sponsored basket donations again

Outings Subcommittee Report

• Medical packets

  • Sandra only has 6 medical packets

  • Drivers need to return these to Sandra after each outing

• Flags on Graves

  • Patrick will be Outing Leader for this event

  • No arranged car pools unless people ask - everyone drives themselves

• Summer Camp - Bob C is Outing Leader

  • Bus problems discussed earlier

  • Mandatory Parent Meeting June 5th

• Florida Seabase High Adventure Trip

  • Airfare booked

  • Almost ready

  • 6 Scouts, 2 Adults

  • Website up

  • Crew meeting in conjunction with June Swim check

  • National Tour Permit (Bill M to train Marcy)

• Cub Day Camp

  • Pacific Lodge

  • July 10-14

  • Troop 22 - Assemble flag pole July 9th

  • Need 1 ASM and 2-3 Scouts

  • Den Cheifs:

    • Evan, Mario, Brayan?

    • Need more help -- doesn't have to be full time

  • Lots of great events:

    • Birds of Prey

    • Faire

    • Fencing

    • Climbing wall

• Annual Planning June -- Survey's June 5th

Advancement Subcommittee Report

• Court of Honor was great!!!

  • New volunteers did a fantastic job!

  • Lisa did a great job with awards etc.

Membership Subcommittee Report

• Troopmaster Database

  • We need a Troopmaster person

  • The more we put into the database the more we can get out of it

Communications Subcommittee Report

• Photo website is up and running

• Historian, Andrew has been training and will upload photos

• Need Troopmaster read only password

• Bob C to get Sandra up on Troopmaster database

• Bob C to email Sandra list of attendees to Camp Whitsett

Uniform/Training Subcommittee Report ()

• Training

  • New Leader Essentials Training was well attended and quite successful

  • Merit Badge Counselor Orientation Training also a success
