Scoutmaster Report:

*     Website is being used.  Weekly emails are helpful.

*     The January outing was a lot of fun.  Shot BB’s and 22s.  Built a bridge using lashing.   Attendance was better but not terrific.  There were 7 no shows.

*     The next outing is at the end of February.  It will be a massive scavenger hunt.  Location to be announced.  Patrick will be out of the country for this trip.  This will be a car camping event.

*     The boy leadership in the troop is improving; however the boys are still struggling with communication at the patrol and troop level.  We would like to see the boys take more initiative so that they can run the basic campout with little or no adult intervention or suggestions.

*     The scoutmaster would like to remind the Scouts that we do not bring magazines, books, footballs, cd players, lighters etc. on any Troop 22 campout.

Finance Subcommittee Report:

*     Boys trust accounts have been balanced and discrepancies have been resolved.  Contact Kathy Zimmermann to check on your boys’ accounts.

*     The troop ATM card is operational now.

*     A Troop Audit will be done soon.

*     We are still looking into Escrip as a passive source of income for the troop.  There was much debate on whether this was feasible or even desirable by the Troop Committee.

*     We need to make sure that our council account is part of the Quickbooks system.

*     Sally Neely has agreed to help out with Quickbooks (Judy Soyster’s Job) and she will be the Banking Assistant and do the deposits and count the cash.

*     We approved expenses to purchase leader recognition items, notebooks, donation to troops and Prince of Peace display box work

Advancement Subcommittee Report:

*     There are several Scouts that have not even made the rank of Scout.  What is the mechanism to follow up on this?

*     The court of honor is coming up.

*     How are we going to recognize the leaders who have volunteered for so long.? Money was approved for Lisa to purchase recognition.

*     All parents and all scouts should attend all courts of honor.  We only have them twice a year.  Come out and help the troop celebrate its successes!

*     We need parents to RSVP and help set up for the Eagle court of honor on February, 2nd.

Membership/Communications Subcommittee Report:

*     Troop Committee Reorganization is progressing nicely.

*     The new organizational job chart was approved.  We still need to fill in the names for the volunteers.

*     Blank, template binders were created for all jobs identified in the new organizational job chart.

*     Next step is to assemble lists of responsibilities for each job.  These are mostly being done by the people who are currently holding those jobs.  All such lists of responsibilities should be emailed or in some other form delivered to Rayna Burgess (raynab@charter.net)

*     Rayna has purchased divider tabs for the binders.  They have computer generated labels, are strong, and look nice.  For each binder, please send Rayna a list of divider tab names and she will give you a set of computer printed divider tabs for your binder.  Otherwise you can use whatever method you prefer to separate your binder sections.

*     Rayna is putting together a collection of computer files used by the various troop jobs including troop clip art etc.  From this collection she will burn a re-writable CD to be included in each binder.  Please email her all of your files, even ones that are only remotely interesting so that they can be included on the CDs.  If you don’t like to email just bring a floppy to any Troop Meeting.  Rayna is the one sitting at the laptop in the kitchen!

*     New Scout Packet contents have been reviewed by Jerry Seymour and Janna Hazard.  They are in the process of updating the letters, rosters and calendars.  Webelos are starting to visit!!

Old Business

*     We continue to review the new Troopmaster software.

*     We are still working on the new organization and filling jobs.

*     Windows on the bulletin board at church.  Expenses have been approved but we need a carpenter to complete the work.  Jerry will take the action to get a carpenter to complete this job.

*     There is now a link from the Troop 22 website to the Prince of Peace website.  Check out their website where they show plans for their new Youth programs room!

New Business:

*     Scouting for Food.  Our troop will help count and collect food at Prince of Peace on Saturday, February 16th from 9 to 5.

*     High Adventure:  Monday, February 4th, Janice Druez needs to have 4-5 people together in a room with a cell phone with a redial button.  This committee will start rapid dialing at 8 am.  We have several different High Adventure Activities that we are trying to book for the troop.

*     Summer Camp at Whitsett:  Reservations have been made.  We still need to send in a deposit.

*     Monday Patrick will have the final count on Northern Tier.

*     Medical forms expire in one year.  It is a big job to update these forms.
